Emerging from the creative London jazz scene, EMRYS are a trio of trailblazing young musicians crafting original jazz music. Drawing from a shared love of Jazz, Classical, Choral and Folk music, their immersive compositions inspire flowing musical landscapes, inviting reflection and rediscovery. Inspired by the wise folkloric figure of EMRYS (Merlin), the trio are led by the guiding force of their music and the unity of creating it together.

Individually Sam, Chris and Isaac have worked with internationally renowned Jazz artists such as Giacomo Smith, Byron Wallen, Joe Webb, Trish Clowes, Hans Koller, Tom Challenger, Laura Jurd and Harry Diplock.

EMRYS sees these three unique young artists combine, bringing their own music and voices to audiences for the first time.

In April 2026, EMRYS will embark on a week-long ‘Walking and Music Tour’ of the Lake District.

The tour will see EMRYS trek the expanse of the Lake District on foot, performing a concert of their music after each day’s walk in local community spaces, schools, churches and village halls.

Each concert begins with an improvised musical reflection of that day’s walk - “Music for this moment in time and space, to celebrate the meeting of people and place.”

Recordings from each concert will be curated to form a debut album. The tour is partly funded by Trinity Laban Conservatoire's 'Principals' Innovation Award' received by EMRYS drummer Sam Nicholls in July 2025
